this is another edit for a basketball player. never having access to it or family who was interested in sports as a kid, i never watched sports. i've since seen my fair share of games and have connected with many of our shared upset over our favorite teams. i believe this is an evolution from my lebron edit. text is clearer, cutouts are cleaner, and the length is double the first project. similarly, i edited this on a lower framerate. this helped with another technique i didn't mention previously, that being overlays take this part for example: slowed down, you can see a slight grain texture overlayed onto the basketball. this is in anticipation of the next frame, where a large white overlay covers most of the screen. the word "lottery" is strecthed to emphasize the impact of the basketball making it into the hoop. it's also colored green to fit the theme and make it stand out more. afterwords, it's able to cut to another clip, as the white grain overlay acts like a curtain, hiding what's happening behind it. playing it at a normal speed, it makes the shot more impactful. other clips will show me playing around with black overlays that contrast the white. other ways to make impact include sound design. i used a camera flick anytime clips were transitioned with a white screen. it makes it just the tinest bit more lively and full.
